In a study by María Teresa Monjarás, Edith Romero-Godínez, and Octavio Salvador-Ginez published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents, the Psychometric Properties of the parent version of the Preschool Coping Scale have been explored.
Participants: 525 caregivers, children from 2 years 9 months to 6 years (M = 4.4; S.D. = 0.795).
Instrument: Coping Scale for Preschoolers, parent versions (EAP-P): Likert scale of 23 questions.
Results:
* Adequate fit of the model to the data (RMSEA=.05; NFI=.93; TLI=.91; CFI=.93).
* Omega alpha coefficient: .81 for the final 14-item scale.
Conclusions: The EAP-P is presented as a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate coping in children from 3 to 6 years old.
